Climate Change Analysis Tools
The Climate Wizard
Climate-change will inevitably affect every living thing on Earth. Society’s belief in a world much warmer than today is continually growing but its understanding of the effects is not. To address this gap the Climate Wizard was developed as an analysis tool that uses state of the art climate models and advanced statistical analysis to examine both the current and future climate conditions of any place on the Earth. It can produce an array of historic data going back to 1895, or projected data through 2099, bringing together for the first time the full spectrum of climatic concerns for a landscape.
The web-based program allows its user to specify any region on a map, pose a series of questions about past, present, and/or future climate variables, and then generate a spatially explicit climate change assessment of that region. ClimateWizard is designed to enhance the effectiveness of global conservation efforts by supporting the free and open sharing of climate change information and knowledge.
ClimateWizard provides a simple web viewer to see the past and future climate in selected areas. Lite users can download maps and data for 50 year averages.
ClimateWizard Advanced is designed for the technical practitioner. The advanced version allows you to create custom maps, choose a specific area of interest, and time period, as well as select from three climate models and three emission scenarios.
