12th IALE World Congress

Preparations for the 2027 IALE World Congress have started!

Under the leadership of Massimo Palme, Chair of the 12th World Congress, a small coordination team has been set up to respond to all organizational and logistical needs.

The coordination team is counting on the support of four universities in Valparaiso, Chile and is looking forward to welcome all attendees and speakers with a rich thematic event.

The Congress will take place from 8 to 12 November 2027, featuring the theme "Landscape Ecology: Science and Sustainability in the 21st Century".

Meanwhile, with the support of IALE Chile a competition was launched to design the logo for the event. We are pleased to announce that the competition was successful and the selected logo is a beautiful image that well represents the location of the conference (Valparaiso) with a gentle reminder of Chile and its landscapes.

The Scientific Committee, led by Christian Echevarria is also making good progress in relation to the topics and keynote speakers for the event.

The team is already looking into offering 5 or 6 in-congress excursions and is liaising with several travel agencies to facilitate trips around the Congress area.

Key dates:

• October 2026: call for sessions and symposia
• December 2026: acceptance of sessions and symposia
• January 2027: call for abstracts and early registration
• April 2027: abstract acceptance
• June 2027: early registration ends
• 6-7 November 2027: Workshops and side events
• 8-12 November 2027: IALE World Congress
• After 13 November 2027: time to visit the beautiful country of CHILE
