Here are some highlights:
- IALE China: The Twelfth National Symposium on Landscape Ecology was held successfully in Kunming, Yunnan Province, from August 16-18, 2025. Over 600 participants from 200+ universities and research institutions attended to discuss the integration of big data and new methods in ecological studies.
- IALE India (IRALE): Dr. Ramesh Krishnamurthy was elected to the IUCN India Executive Committee, a recognition of his significant contributions to wildlife research and conservation policy.
- IALE North America (IALE NA): The 40th anniversary meeting will take place from April 26-30, 2026, in Athens, Georgia, where the organization was founded. The theme is "Landscape Ecology at 40: Learning from the Past, Shaping a Resilient Future." The call for workshops and symposia is open now!
- IALE UK Conference: Over 80 delegates attended the Landscape Ecology UK Conference in Edinburgh. The conference focused on monitoring and evidencing change at the landscape scale, with a high number of presenters from outside of academia.
- Urban and Peri-Urban Governance Working Group: A workshop was held on August 29, 2025, in the Czech Republic, to explore how green-blue infrastructure can create age-inclusive urban open spaces in prefabricated housing estates. A key outcome will be a special issue of the journal Urban Studies.
- Call for Abstracts for the 24th International Conference on Aquatic Invasive Species. The deadline for submission is September 26, 2025.
